KU bags trophies in theatre, dance

KURUKSHETRA: Kurukshetra University has bagged the overall trophies in theatre and dance events at the 34th North Zone Inter-University Youth Festival that concluded at Panjab University in Chandigarh on Monday.

Kurukshetra University has bagged the overall trophies in theatre and dance events at the 34th North Zone Inter-University Youth Festival that concluded at Panjab University in Chandigarh on Monday. A total of 36 universities participated in the five-day event.

A KU spokesperson said in folk orchestra, skit and classical dance, the KU teams won the first position. In one-act play, KU students secured second position and third position in the folk tribal dance.

Along with the university teams, Dr Ashok Chaudhary, president, KU Cultural Council, Prof Tejinder Sharma, Director, Department Youth and Cultural Affairs, and Dr Hitender Tyagi, Deputy Director, DYCA, received the awards.

Vice-Chancellor Kailash Chandra Sharma congratulated the winning teams and called upon for achieving excellence in the national youth festival.
