Panipat, April 21

Krishan Lal Panwar, Transport, Jail and Housing Minister, said on Saturday that the Haryana State Kabaddi Sangh (HSKS) is an unrecognised organisation and it was exploiting youths of the state in the name of the sport.

He was interacting with mediapersons at the PWD rest house here. He is the president, Amateur Kabaddi Association of Haryana (AKAH).

Panwar alleged that the INLD was running the HSKS and no national or international federation had recognised it. Besides, the International Kabaddi Federation in India, the Union Youth and Sports Ministry and the Indian Olympics Sangh have recognised the Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India (AKFI) and its president Janardhan Singh Gahlot, he said.

The AKAH had not conducted elections for the last 10 years hence the federation had cancelled its accreditation. The Punjab and Haryana High Court had thrice rejected their appeals for accreditation, he said.

Panwar alleged that some associations were exploiting youths by organising competitions and league games in the state. On the other hand, the AKFI had been working to get kabaddi included in the Olympics, he added.

He said that the alliance of the INLD and the BSP was opportunistic just to grab power in the state.

Panwar said that, “I have visited Kalkha, Brahman Majra, Sutana and Jatal villages where the wheat crop was gutted in a fire on Friday. I have ordered an inquiry into the incident. Farmers will be compensated suitably,” he added.
