A dairy products supplier from Kurukshetra was waylaid, robbed of his car on the Ambala-Chandigarh NH near Sultanpur village on Wednesday, the police said here today.

Satbeer Singh reported to the police he supplied dairy products in Chandigarh, Mohali, Panchkula and Zirakpur. As usual, he was on his way to Mohali in his car. 

“Around 9.30 pm, I stopped my car on the roadside near Sultanpur village to buy a beer. When I came back, three youths asked for a lift. When I refused, they pulled out pistols,” he said.

He said he tried to resist the assailants, but the trio overpowered him. They hit him with the pistol handles. The trader gave up and fled following which the trio drove in his car towards Chandigarh. A case has been registered. — TNS
