In Karnal, CM says confident of winning more than 75 seats

Bearing scorching heat, BJP leaders and workers thronged the roads of all five Assembly segments to welcome Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar during the ‘Jan Ashirwaad Yatra’ on Thursday.

Party workers’ enthusiasm rubbed on Khattar, who exuded confidence of his party returning for second innings. “I am confident that we will achieve the target of 75 plus as the party workers and people of Haryana want the BJP to form the government again,” said Khattar to a massive gathering in Karnal city.

On the fourth day of his yatra, the CM reached Indri block, where Minister of State for Food and Supplies Karan Dev Kamboj welcomed him. Khattar said the govenment had initiated works worth Rs 1,300 crore in Indri block.

Later, at Shamgarh, Khattar addressed a public meeting organised by Nilokheri MLA Bhagwan Das Kabirpanthi and highlighted the achievements of the government.

In Karnal city, the CM was welcomed at 25 places. He inaugurated and laid the foundation stones of 20 projects worth Rs 109 crore from Maharaja Agrasen Chowk. Khattar also hoisted a national flag on a 61-foot-high pole outside NDRI. “We have done a lot of work in the last five years and I came here to take your blessings,” said Khattar.

Accompanied by MP Sanjay Bhatia, Cabinet Minister Kavita Jain and others, Khattar’s yatra reached Gharaunda in the afternoon.

Addressing another meeting, he said: “We have started the initiative of assured assistance of Rs 6,000 for the farmers, besides crop insurance.” The CM said they had carried out Rs 1,000-crore development works in the Gharaunda block.
