Sonepat: Former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Monday demanded a CBI inquiry into the murder of Dr Rakesh, veterinary livestock development assistant at Badoli village, who was thrown into the Ganga at Haridwar by a man said to be a BJP activist. He stated this while interacting with mediapersons after meeting members of the bereaved family at Badoli village. Hooda said he would write to Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar for a CBI probe into the case. "I will also speak to the Director General of Police for a fair investigation," he said, maintaining if the government was reluctant for a CBI inquiry, it would be ordered if the Congress came to power. Representatives of 24 villages of the area also met Hooda and submitted a memorandum for a CBI inquiry into the case. OC
