Honeypreet, Ram Rahim’s family participate in dera event at Sirsa

CHANDIGARH: Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh’s ‘adopted daughter’ Honeypreet Insan, who was released on bail from Ambala jail last week, on Tuesday participated in a big event organised in Sirsa to mark the birth anniversary of the sect founder Shah Mastana Balochistani.

Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh’s ‘adopted daughter’ Honeypreet Insan, who was released on bail from Ambala jail last week, on Tuesday participated in a big event organised in Sirsa to mark the birth anniversary of the sect founder Shah Mastana Balochistani.

A large number of dera followers from Haryana, Punjab and other neighbouring states participated the function named as “Pawan Avatar Diwas.”

Honeypreet Insan aka Priyanka Taneja was seen sitting in the special enclosure made for Ram Rahim’s family where she kept sitting in reverence along with the dera chief’s mother, two daughters, sons-in-law, son and daughter-in-law even as a video of Ram Rahim’s discourse was played on TV screens.

A spokesperson of the dera said 4,505 followers donated their blood at camp organised on the occasion.

In a medical camp organised by the dera, free medical check-up was conducted on 1,030 patients while 912 others benefitted from health awareness camp.

The spokesperson said tricycles were distributed to 12 physically challenged persons and sewing machines were given to 15 women. Four people got houses to live in.

The Dera Sacha Sauda, Sirsa was founded by Shah Mastana Balochistani on April 29, 1948.

After his death, Shah Satnam Singh took over the reins of the Dera in 1963 and he remained head of the sect till 1990 when he handed over the ‘Gurugaddi’ (headship) to Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh on September 23, 1990.
