Jind, December 9

Hisar MP Dushyant Chautala formally launched the Jannayak Janta Party here on Sunday. He also unveiled his party’s flag that sports green and yellow colours with the image of his great-grandfather Chaudhary Devi Lal.

Dushyant is likely to head the Jannayak Janata Party.

The Tribune has learnt that ‘Team Dushyant’, which was earlier skeptical on whether Dushyant could safely head a new political party while retaining his Lok Sabha seat that he won on the INLD symbol in 2014, has now been told by constitutional experts that nothing stops him to head the party.

“He has been expelled from the INLD by the party president and he has not resigned from the party. Constitutional experts are of the opinion that he can safely head the new party and still continue as MP from Hisar,” said sources.

Dushyant Chautala addressed his supporters at Jind’s Pandu Pindara village on Sunday afternoon where thousands of people supporting his faction gathered.
