The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has prepared a panel of prospective candidates for 10 out of the total 90 seats in the Haryana Assembly elections. The panel for the remaining seats will be drawn in phases and will be submitted before AAP’s Political Affairs Committee (PAC).
PAC is headed by the party's national Convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
Party sources said the panel would contain three names for each seat in order of preference.
As per the party’s policy, the panel will be prepared after screening the profiles of ticket aspirants. The decision will be made based on ‘winnability’ quotient and also keeping in mind that the candidates should not be ‘tainted’.
The names of the 10 seats where the panel has been cleared is being kept under wraps for now.
“AAP will declare the names of candidates at an opportune time; the party has always been upfront and prompt in finalising the names of the nominees,” said a senior leader of the party.
The party has also constituted its Election Manifesto Committee which has already drawn the broad contours of the issues it will focus on.
