Private schools across the country associated with the National Independent Schools Alliance (NISA) will observe Teacher’s Day as a Black Day in protest against increasing government interference in functioning of schools.

Kulbhushan Sharma, NISA president, told The Tribune, “We want a conductive atmosphere for private schools. The teaching and non-teaching staff of about 60,000 schools across the country will observe Black Day and wear black ribbons, while buses will carry black flags.”

“The NISA demands release of teachers, principals, school management personnel arrested in false cases. All schools will send memorandum to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Ministers to press for their demands,” he added. — TNS
