The Haryana Civil Medical Services Association (HCMSA) has expressed resentment over the working conditions and the salary structure of doctors after the implementation of the Seventh Pay Commission recommendations in the state.

The HCMSA has also expressed concern over increasing violence against doctors and decrease in non-practising allowance in the Seventh Pay Commission report and abolition of in-service postgraduate seats.

Dr Rajesh Sheokand, general secretary of the HCMSA, said doctors unanimously demanded at a meeting of state associations of government doctors held in Delhi on July 15 that there should be parity in pay, perks and protocol throughout the country.

It was also resolved at the meeting that the NPA at 25 per cent of the basic pay be restored that has been reduced to 20 per cent in the pay commission recommendations.

He said doctors also demanded that 50 per cent postgraduate seats be reserved for in-service candidates.
