Governor calls for unity to combat anti-national forces

PANCHKULA: Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki yesterday cautioned the people against the threat of terrorism and tension on the border, which he said call for united efforts by every citizen to defeat the ill designs of anti-national forces.

Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki yesterday cautioned the people against the threat of terrorism and tension on the border, which he said call for united efforts by every citizen to defeat the ill designs of anti-national forces.

The Governor was speaking after hoisting the National Flag at the state-level Independence Day function here. “People in the country celebrate various festivals in their own way, but Independence Day is such a festival which is celebrated in the entire country without any discrimination of religion, caste, creed and language,” he said.

He recalled the supreme sacrifices made by freedom fighters, martyrs and brave soldiers and said: “It is our duty to give due respect and honour to their families”.

The Governor said it was a matter of pride that public awareness campaign through ‘Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao’, Swachh Bharat, Make in India, Skill India, Digital India etc was going on to enable the country to face new challenges. He called upon the people to contribute to make India a superpower of 21st century by making an active participation in this campaign.

He said Haryana had received the award at the national level in e-Governance and Digital India.
