Girl’s father, stepmother arrested on murder charge

Swati was allegedly murdered by her father and stepmother at village Busana in Gohana in the district on July 15. She was allegedly having strained relations with her stepmother.

According to the police, Pradeep of Badeh village in Shamli district of UP, staying at Busana village, complained that some unidentified person strangulated his daughter Swati.

After registering a case of murder, the police took Pradeep and his wife Pal Kumar into their custody.

During preliminary investigation, Pradeep confessed involvement in Swati’s murder. Both were sent to judicial custody. — OC
