In what comes as a New Year gift, the long-pending Gurugram-Faridabad Metro link has been approved and the trains shall start running from 2021. Gujjar said he had got the official go-ahead on December 13 and the long-awaited ambitious project shall be built at the cost of Rs 5,900 crore.

“Residents of both places have waited for long for this type of connectivity. It will be a boon for the people, especially IT professionals. The work on this line will start soon,” said Gujjar. As per the plan, seven stations will be built between the two cities, starting from Bata Chowk with Badkal Enclave, Pali Crusher Zone, Bhati Mines, Mandi, Sushant Sector 54, Sector 45 and Huda City Center. — TNS
