FM asks for report on crop damage

CHANDIGARH: Finance, and Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Capt Abhimanyu has directed officers to prepare an assessment report on the damage caused to crops due to heavy rainfall and hailstorm in the state yesterday so as to provide relief to affected farmers.

Finance, and Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Capt Abhimanyu has directed officers to prepare an assessment report on the damage caused to crops due to heavy rainfall and hailstorm in the state yesterday so as to provide relief to affected farmers.

He said here today he had received reports of crop damage from various parts of the state. After getting the report, a special girdawari would be conducted for affected areas so that farmers could be provided with compensation.

Dushyant seeks relief for rain-hit farmers

Hisar: A day after a rain and hailstorm caused damage to rabi crops in several parts of the state, Hisar MP Dushyant Chautala on Friday urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to compensate the affected farmers within three days. In a letter to the PM, Dushyant said, “The situation warrants immediate protective measures.” — TNS
