Faridabad MC recovers Rs 1.14-crore revenue

In a two-day camp held for the recovery of civic charges on Saturday, the Faridabad Municipal Corporation (MC) has recovered revenue of Rs 1.14 crore. The MC has taken the step to the generate revenue and recover pending taxes like property tax, licence fee and water and sewer connection charges.

The camp was held at the office of the Faridabad Industries Association near Bata Chowk here.

Stating this, a spokesperson of the MC said Rs56.96 lakh had been collected against the licence fee from industrial and commercial units. He said property tax worth Rs35.42 lakh had also been deposited in a single day by several units.

While the camp fetched Rs92.38 lakh, the MC collected Rs6.68 lakh for the regularisation of illegal water and sewer connections from another camp held at the community centre of Sainik Colony here.

The teams of the MC also held regularisation camps at SGM Nagar, Sainik Colony and Adarsh Nagar of Ballabgarh today to fetch revenue of Rs15.18 lakh, it is reported. While 141 water and sewer connections were regularised on Saturday, over 240 consumers availed the benefit on Sunday.

Anita Yadav, Commissioner, Faridabad MC, had recently announced a drive to regularise illegal connections. She had warned FIR against those who fail to regularise water and sewer connections.

An official claimed that the process of getting a water or sewer connection had been simplified.
