Mahendragarh, July 21
Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said here on Saturday that his government would ensure the procurement of every grain of the bajra crop so as to extend to farmers the benefit of the minimum support price (MSP) that was recently hiked by the Centre.
“Having raised the MSP for the kharif crop, the BJP government will now make arrangements for the procurement of the entire bajra crop. We will first motivate traders to buy maximum bajra of the farmers. Then, the government will ensure the procurement of the remaining produce so as to give farmers a fair price of bajra. The bajra will be distributed at fair price shops @ Rs 1 per kg,” said Khattar while speaking at “Kisan Dhanyavaad Rally” at the vegetable market here.
The CM maintained that food processing units would be set up to make laddo, biscuit, panjiri and other items of bajra through modern technology. These products will also be exported. The move aimed at utilising the procured bajra, he added.
Khattar promised canal water to tail-end villages through water-lifting system and to provide 2,000 jobs to youths of Mahendragarh district on merit.
The CM announced to set up Industrial Modern Township (IMT) at Khatod village here and to provide Rs 250 crore for the development of the Mahendragarh Assembly segment. He inaugurated a power sub-station and laid the foundation of Maharana Pratap Bhawan in Malda Baans village on the occasion.
Education Minister Rambilas Sharma, Agriculture Minister Om Prakash Dhankar and Mahendragarh-Bhiwani MP Dharamveer Singh also spoke at the rally.
‘Lift LPG cylinder from DC’s house’
Manohar Lal Khattar claimed that the Prime Minister Ujjawala Yojana has brought a change in the lives of crores of BPL families across the nation. He asked those present in the Dhanyavaad rally to raise their hands who had not got LPG cylinder under the yojana. At this, around 10 people raised their hands. Then the Chief Minister directed Deputy Commissioner Garima Mittal to ensure that they had an LPG cylinder within 48 hours by getting their forms filled. “You can lift LPG cylinder from the DC residence if she fails to provide it to tyou within 48 hours. Other person can lift the cylinder from the house of Education Minister Rambilas Sharma,” said Khattar in a lighter vein. He said the BJP government had vowed to ensure an LPG cylinder to every BPL family under the Ujjawala Yojana and five lakh cylinders had so far been distributed in the state.
