Chief Minister Manohar Lal today directed officials concerned to ensure prompt supply of electricity connections to consumers. He also told them to ensure that all waterworks get adequate water for supply to residents. He warned them of strict action if anyone was found guilty of a casual approach in this regard.

He said solar power systems were the state government’s priority and applications of residents in this regard should be taken seriously. He ordered action against a company for improper installation of a solar panel.

Khattar listened to the grievances of people in the presence of the local MLA, Deputy Commissioner and government officers. He directed the Meham SDM to get meat and liquor shops located near a temple in Meham closed.

He told officials of the Animal Husbandry Department to get stray cattle as well as pet animals tagged and impose fine on people whose pet animals are found loitering on streets.

Khattar ordered an inquiry into the alleged irregularities in the appointment of Assistant Professor (s) in Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) here. He told the officials concerned to take immediate action in getting panchayat land freed from encroachers.

He inaugurated several projects and laid foundation stones of others involving an expenditure of Rs 50 crore. These projects include a children’s home at Rohtak, an Industrial Training Institute (ITI) at Kansala village, and a waterworks project in Sector 34 here.

Khattar laid the foundation stones of a sports facilitation centre at the Rajiv Gandhi Sports Stadium and a new building of Government Girls Senior Secondary School at Hassangarh village.

The Chief Minister, while talking to mediapersons, said the BJP always remains in the election mode and this spirit enabled it to win the Presidential election and the Assembly elections in 17 states.

He added that the BJP government would take up more developmental works in five years than those undertaken by the previous Congress government during its 10-year tenure.

“The government has undertaken 1,000 developmental works during its first 1,000 days, which is a record,” he said. Minister of State for Cooperation Manish Kumar Grover was also present.
