EC to grant permission to state depts online

Chandigarh: Under the model code of conduct, different departments in Haryana asking for all kinds of permissions from the Election Commission of India would now be granted online. Rajeev Ranjan, Haryana chief electoral officer, said while presiding over a meeting of officials of different departments recently. He said during the model code of conduct, prior permission for advertisement, appointment and inauguration would now be given online and not through files. For this, login ID's would be created on the cVIGIL portal in the name of Additional Chief Secretaries or Principal Secretaries of different departments from the office of the chief electoral officer and one time password would be received on their mobile numbers.
