Minutes after staking claim to form the government in Haryana, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Saturday said that Jannayak Janata Party leader Dushyant Chautala would be the deputy chief  minister.

All ministers would take the oath along with the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister. However, the CM refused to name who all will become ministers.

Earlier, there was speculation that Dushyant’s mother Naina Chautala would be given the position of deputy chief minister.

Naina is wife of Ajay Chautala, who is lodged in jail after conviction in a teacher recruitment scam, along with father Om Prakash Chautala.

Dushyant, great grandson of Devi Lal, had said that his party believed that the alliance was necessary for stability in Haryana.
