Sonepat, January 2

A five-day training camp on diagnosing non-communicable diseases started here at the Civil Hospital on Tuesday.

The camp is organised jointly by the state Health Department and NGOs HOPE and GE Health Care.

A team of specialist doctors, including Dr Balbir, Dr Sweta, Dr Gaurav and Dr Shikha from Delhi, imparted training to doctors and staff nurses in diagnosing cancer. They also opined that the diagnosis of the non-communicable diseases like cancer at the early stage could minimise complications.

Inaugurating the camp, Dr JS Punia, Civil Surgeon, said the Health Department had decided to provide diagnostic facilities of non-communicable diseases free of cost at sub-centres, primary health centres and community health centres in the district. — OC
