The District Town and Country Planning (DTCP) has got two FIRs registered in connection with the violation of the Haryana Real Estate Regulatory Authority (HRERA) Act.
One of the cases was registered on Thursday against Ansal Housing Construction Private Limited and second one was registered against shop owner Ashok Kumar Singh for allegedly constructing illegal shops in a group housing society, Heritage City.
The case against Ansal Housing was registered at the Sector-10 police station after home buyers alleged it did not have a licence for a housing project that it planned to develop.
As per a complaint, Ansal Housing collected money from home buyers for a project in Sector 92 here. It later came to light the project licence was in the name of JSG Builders Private Limited and NCC Urban Infrastructure Limited.
The FIR was registered under Sections 3, 7 and 10 of the HRERA Act and Section 3 of the Haryana Development and Regulations of Urban Areas Act, 1975.
District Town and Country Planning officials said they had sent a recommendation for an FIR in November last year, but the case was registered only after a reminder was sent to the police.
The FIR against Singh is in connection with illegal shops constructed at a site earmarked for a parking lot in Heritage City in Sector 25 here. He did not take permission from the Director General, Town County Planning Department. Besides, the construction was in violation of the HRERA Act.
The department said shops were constructed at the behest of a local Resident Welfare Association (RWA).
A complaint about illegal construction was lodged at the CM’s window.
“In 2017, the DTCP got unauthorised shops constructed by the RWA demolished. However, we received a complaint that the RWA got the shops re-built at the same location. A field visit brought out that Singh constructed the shops without obtaining permission from the competent authority,” reads a letter shot to the police by the DTCP.
