Rohtak, December 4

The deadlock over the recent assault on teachers of Government Senior Secondary School in Kishangarh village, adjoining Meham, in the district continued on Tuesday, with the school remaining closed for the second consecutive day.

The teachers refused to go to school and take classes out of apprehension of a fresh attack. Local officers of the Education and Department and police tried to convince them to resume their duties, but to no avail. Local police officials remained at the receiving end from both sides, with schoolteachers as well as the student’s family members accusing them of inaction.

The teachers claimed that the police had not arrested all accused named in the FIR and had imposed weak sections, due to which the persons arrested had already got bail.

On the other hand, the family members of the Class VIII student, whose relatives and acquaintances had allegedly assaulted the teachers, claimed that he had been badly beaten up by teachers, but the police had refused to accept their complaint. — TNS
