Ambala, August 13

The hopes of two families were dashed on Sunday night when two cousins died after falling from a Ferris wheel in Ambala Cantonment.

While Deepmala (25), working as laboratory technician in a private hospital, was scheduled to get married in December, Anjali was a BA second-year student of SD College.

Anjali was the eldest of five sisters and the family had high hopes that she would support the family financially after completing her studies.

Their cousin Rahul said, “Anjali’s parents hoped that she would support the family after completing studies. Deepmala was all set to get married, but everything had ended. Deepmala has a younger brother.”

While Deepmala’s father worked at a shop, Anjali’s father ran a grocery shop. Their parents were in shock and inconsolable. The cremation was performed on Monday.

The Ambala police arrested the Ferris wheel ride owner. He was identified as Qurban (25) of Garhi Gujran in Yamunanagar. The police registered a case under Sections 304 and 34 of the IPC.
