Crackdown on drug peddlers in Kaithal, 30 held

KAITHAL: The anti-drug squad of Kaithal police have arrested 30 drug peddlers, including two women, in 25 separate cases in the past 54 days and seized a huge quantity of smack, heroin, poppy husk, opium and ganja from them.

The anti-drug squad of Kaithal police have arrested 30 drug peddlers, including two women, in 25 separate cases in the past 54 days and seized a huge quantity of smack, heroin, poppy husk, opium and ganja from them.

The police have also seized 10 vehicles, 18 mobile phones and Rs68,910 drug money from those arrested. He said the alertness of its staff under Sub-Inspector Balwan Singh, in-charge of anti-drug squad, and active public cooperation has helped in this crackdown against drug peddlers.

Superintendent of Police Waseem Akram said the police will spare no effort in catching those indulging in drug trafficking and playing with the lives of people and youth in particular. He said the police campaign has created panic among drug peddlers, who are on the run now, but even then, people should inform the police on his number 94161-31542 about drug suppliers. — OC
