A special police officer (SPO) working on a contractual basis in Narnaul has been booked for allegedly raping and threatening a woman. He also allegedly extorted Rs 1 lakh from her in lieu of getting her work done at a women's police station.

In her complaint, the woman accused SPO Sunil Kumar, who is posted at the Police Lines, of calling her to a house in Narnaul on some pretext and raping her several times.

A police spokesman said Sunil was appointed SPO in Narnaul four months ago. A case under Sections 376 and 506 of the IPC have been registered against him on the complaint of the victim.
