Karnal, July 18

The state government has decided to grant three months to apply under the policy of conversion of residential plots for commercial use under rehabilitation, town planning and improvement trust schemes located within municipal limits developed prior to 1980.

This was stated by Priyanka Soni, Municipal Commissioner. By depositing fee with application, illegal conversion would be regularised under this scheme, she added.

She said conversion would be allowed on any plot having road width not less than 12 metres. A parking provision would be made by the applicants.

The plots should not be divided into parts, she said. An applicant would have to submit a certificate of structure from a structural engineer, proof of ownership, a site plan and Rs 11,000 per square metre for commercial plot and Rs 10,000 per square metre for open plot, she said. An NOC from immediate neighbours on both sides should be submitted.—TNS
