The Indian National Lok Dal will blow the poll bugle for parliamentary elections from Jannayak Janta Party convener Dushyant Chautala’s Hisar constituency on March 1 with a rally to be addressed by party patriarch Om Prakash Chautala.
Leader of the Opposition Abhay Singh Chautala and INLD state president Ashok Arora today jointly announced that an INLD rally would be held at Hansi in Hisar district on March 1.
“The rally will be addressed by party president Chaudhary Om Prakash Chautala and will herald the beginning of the party’s Lok Sabha campaign,” said Abhay in the evening.
“With this rally, the INLD will launch its Lok Sabha campaign with the aim of ushering in a government that keeps its promises and works for the welfare of the people,” he added.
Dushyant is the sitting MP from Hisar, a seat he won in 2014 on an INLD ticket.
Chautala’s rally in Hisar assumes significance because ever since he has launched his campaign after coming out of jail on furlough, he has not uttered a word against his grandsons Dushyant and Digvijay, though during the Jind bypoll he had accused them of getting his furlough cancelled and his wife Sneh Lata had also voiced her bitterness against her grandsons.
Earlier in the day, the party patriarch unveiled the banner and logo of the newly formed INLD Students’ Organisation (ISO) and addressed the youth wing of the party.
Chautala Senior assured that the INLD, if voted to power, would ensure that every youth would get employment according to their qualifications. He expressed confidence that his jail term would be served out soon and he would be with the party workers and people during elections.
