The Haryana Cabinet, which met under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar here today, approved the Haryana IT and ESDM Policy-2017 and a start-up policy. It also cleared the Higher Education Department’s proposal of re-employing superannuated teachers.
The IT policy envisages one Wi-Fi zone in all 6,078 gram panchayats within two years, broadband services to every household and Wi-Fi zones at important public places in all towns and cities, 4G services in every village in the next three years. The start-up policy aims at developing the state as a resourceful and inventive start-up hub of the country by supporting and assisting the new-age innovators and entrepreneurial talents across the state.
The start-up policy is aimed at attracting investments of Rs 1,500 crore in the incubation and start-up ecosystem during the policy period, facilitating venture capital funding of a minimum of Rs 200 crore and encouraging, facilitating and incubating at least 500 start-ups.
The Cabinet approved the Higher Education Department’s proposal to re-employ retired assistant professors, associate professors and principals of government colleges after superannuation beyond 58 years of age, across the state. The re-employment would be given up to the age of 60 years.
The Cabinet gave its nod to the setting up the Haryana State Commission for Safai Karamcharis for redress of their complaints and grievancess.
The major functions of the commission would be to investigate, examine and monitor all matters relating to the safeguards provided to the safai karamcharis under the Constitution of India or any other law in force, and evaluate the working of such safeguards.
The Cabinet also approved an amendment to the Haryana Civil Dental Group ‘A’ Service Rules, 1987. As per the amendment, the post of Director, Health Services (Dental), would be filled either by promotion from among the senior dental surgeons or by transfer or deputation of an officer already in service of any state government or the Central government.
In case of a dental surgeon, a member of the Haryana Health Department Dental (Group B) Service, would become a member of the service after satisfactory completion of his period of probation in the service.
Other decisions
11 villages shifted to Faridabad tehsil
The Cabinet approved a proposal of the Revenue and Disaster Management Department to shift 11 villages from Tigaon sub-tehsil to Faridabad tehsil in Faridabad district. A decision to this effect was taken on the basis of the recommendations of the Deputy Commissioner, Faridabad. The villages are Kheri Kalan, Bhatola, Kheri Khurd, Badarpur Said, Tajupur, Bhupani, Bhaskola, Mahawatpur, Nachaoli, Maujmabad and Chak Majai.
Assembly Session from Oct 23-25
Chandigarh: The Haryana Cabinet has decided to convene a Vidhan Sabha session from October 23 to 25. Education Minister Ram Bilas Sharma stated this while interacting with mediapersons after the Cabinet meeting. He said four sessions of Vidhan Sabha were being called during the tenure of the present government, whereas only two sessions were called during the tenure of the previous government. TNS
