BSNL lays 11,005-km optical fibre cable in state

AMBALA: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited’s Haryana Circle has laid 11,005 km optical fibre cable in the state, covering 5,948 gram panchayats, by December 2017 under the “BharatNet Digital India” programme.

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited’s Haryana Circle has laid 11,005 km optical fibre cable in the state, covering 5,948 gram panchayats, by December 2017 under the “BharatNet Digital India” programme.

The state-owned telecommunications company was asked to lay optical fibre cable in 6,017 gram panchayats of the state, of which cable has been laid in 5,948 gram panchayats. Of the covered gram panchayats, 5929 have been declared service ready.

RC Hooda, Chief General Manager, Telecom, Bharat Sanchar Nigam LimitedHaryana, was felicitated on January 8 in New Delhi by Manoj Sinha, Minister of State for Communications, for achieving the targets under “Digital India” programme to lit one lakh gram panchayats of the country under “BharatNet” Project.
