VK Jindal, an honorary professor from Hisar-based Guru Jambheshwar University, has been invited by Technical University Munich (TUM) for its “1st TUM Research Alumni Conference Living and Mobility in Smart Cities” from August 28-29 at TUMCREATE in Singapore. The conference will be held under the auspices of the sponsorship programme administered by Alexander von Humboldt Foundation and funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research. Professor Jindal will speak on “Solution of Temperature Conditioning in Smart Cities”.TNS

Vij lays foundation stone of PHC in Ambala
Health Minister Anil Vij laid the foundation stone of a Primary Health Centre and inaugurated an Ayurvedic Therapy Centre at Nanyola village in Ambala on Sunday. While the Ayurvedic Therapy Centre has been established at a cost of Rs 13 lakh, the PHC would be established at a cost of Rs 2.78 crore. On the request of Ambala city MLA Aseem Goel, the minister announced a grant of Rs 11 lakh for the development of the village. Vij said, “On the pattern of civil hospitals, the PHCs would be equipped with all the facilities. The PHCs would also have the housing facility for doctors. Besides upgrading the civil hospitals, the numbers of PHCs and CHCs are also being increased.” TNS

Advanced paediatric centre inaugurated
An advanced paediatric centre (APC) was inaugurated at Mukand Lal Civil Hospital, Yamunanagar, by Haryana Speaker Kanwar Pal Gurjar on Friday. The APC has a facility for keeping 24 newborn babies at one time besides facilities of X-Ray, lab, breastfeeding room and a room for Kangaroo mother care. The APC has two OPD rooms, one nursing duty room and a conference room. Besides, it has 24 radiant warmers out of which eight are in the inborn unit, eight in the outborn unit and eight in the step down unit. TNS
