Leader of Opposition Abhay Singh Chautala alleged on Sunday that Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and his ministers had been using their discretionary grants for benefit of the RSS and its schools while seeking a White Paper on the allocation of these.

The INLD leader also demanded separate White Papers on investment attracted from Khattar’s foreign trips and various business summits organised by the BJP government in the past three and a half years.

Addressing a press conference here, he condemned the “derogatory” remarks about Mahatma Gandhi by Health Minister Anil Vij. “He should be dropped from the Cabinet immediately and an FIR registered against him,” Abhay said.

He said suspension of Haryana Staff Selection Commission chairman Bharat Bhushan Bharti in connection with the question about the Brahmin community was not enough, adding that the entire board should have been dismissed.

Abhay claimed that the government was in search of a Brahmin face for appointment as the next chairman of the commission to help assuage the feelings of members of the community.

“The government is likely to appoint a Brahmin as the Vice-Chancellor of some university as well to woo the community,” he added.

The INLD leader alleged that the government was reckless with public money and corruption was at its peak though the Chief Minister had been patting his back for “checking” the menace.

“This government organised the Happening Haryana summit when the state was burning during the Jat agitation. It held a Pravasi Haryana summit, sent tickets to industrialists abroad, booked hotels and claimed that investment to the tune of crores was on the way. It must give a White Paper on all these and give details of investment that has come in as a result of foreign trips and summits,” he said.

Alleging that the discretionary grants were being misused by the Chief Minister and ministers to benefit RSS “shakhas” and their schools, he said this public money was meant only for social service.

Criticising Khattar for his objection to namaz in open spaces, Abhay said these were essentially diversionary tactics of the government to keep everybody off burning issues.

“If things continue as they are, the government will soon begin deciding which god to worship and is bound to come out with the announcement that RSS ideologue Deendayal Upadhyaya is the only god,” he remarked.

Dismissing the government claim that the SYL case was still pending in court, Abhay said, “If this is true, why did the CM call an all-party meeting, lead a delegation to the President and meet the Union Home Minister with us?” “We will hold a ‘jail bharo andolan’ over the SYL in Fatehabad on Tuesday. Abhay dared Hooda to sweat in the sun and court arrest with INLD leaders and workers if he termed their “jail bharo andolan” as “bus bharo andolan”.

“His was a five-star culture government with table politics,” he alleged. Hooda’s government, contrary to its commitment, had issued notices of “kurki” against farmers in Jind for non-repayment of loans.
