Panchkula, January 8
More than four months after Dera Sacha Sauda violence, Vipassana Insan has gone into hiding. A Panchkula court has now issued arrest warrants against her in connection with Panchkula violence.
Confirming the development, Panchkula Police Commissioner AS Chawla said the Haryana special investigation team (SIT) had moved an application in a local court seeking arrest warrants for Vipassana.
Accepting the plea of SIT, the court issued arrest warrants against her, he added. He further said the SIT had recently conducted two raids to arrest her, but she had gone into hiding.
Sources said the police had some vital evidence against her and about her involvement in Panchkula violence, in which 36 persons were killed and more than 200 injured on August 25.
In October last year, the SIT had grilled Vipasana in Chandimandir police station for more than nine hours. Vipassana had joined investigation after three notices were issued to her in October.
