A Kashmiri youth studying at a private university in Mullana in the district was yesterday thrashed by some youths, including a student of the same university.

Mudasir Ahad Panoo, a resident of Sopore in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir, pursuing a BSc course in radiology, and Krishan of Faridabad, a student of the BPharma course, had an argument.

Thereafter, a scuffle broke out between them at a market near the university. Both of them reportedly received minor injuries.

Mudasir sustained a minor injury on his nose while Krishan suffered some scratches on his back. Both of them had been staying in the same hostel.

Later, some Kashmiri students marked their resentment before the university authorities and Krishan was suspended till further notice.

After getting information, police officials reached the spot.

The Kashmiri youth did not lodge a police complaint and requested the police in writing not to take any action in this matter.

The latest incident came close on the heels of a similar incident, in which two university students hailing from Jammu and Kashmir were beaten up in Mahendragarh.
