A first: State launches cyber security portal

GURUGRAM:Finance Minister Capt Abhimanyu on Tuesday launched a cyber security portal and a toll free helpline number (1800-180-1234) for reporting cyber security issues.

Finance Minister Capt Abhimanyu on Tuesday launched a cyber security portal and a  toll free helpline number (1800-180-1234) for reporting cyber security issues. It is the first time in the country that any state has launched such a portal.

The services were launched during the ‘National Summit on Digital Innovation & Cyber Security’ at Hartron Campus here.

Ankur Gupta, Principle Secretary, Electronics & Information Technology Department, said anybody could log on ‘haryanaismo.gov.in and know the ways for securing oneself against cyber threats. The portal had information about how to keep children safe online. 

Capt Abhimanyu said, “We have plunged into a virtual world of Internet, completely unprepared. There is so much less to govern and regulate the cyber world, in which we are now living in. So, there is need to make rules and laws to regulate it.” 

The minister also inaugurated an exhibition put up by various start-ups and IT companies. A team of the Digital Investigation Training & Analysis Centre, Haryana Police, was honoured for smart policing initiative. The award was received by IGP, Security, Saurabh Singh. 

The other members of the team were Jitender Gahlawat (DSP, DITAC), and SI Gunpal Singh, in charge, DITAC. A special edition of ‘e gov’ was also released by the minister.
