65-yr-old held for ‘sodomising’ boy

GURUGRAM: A 12-year-old boy allegedly forced into bonded laborer in a Pataudi farm managed to flee and approached the police accusing a 65-year-old farm caretaker of sodomising him.

A 12-year-old boy allegedly forced into bonded laborer in a Pataudi farm managed to flee and approached the police accusing a 65-year-old farm caretaker of sodomising him.

The boy told the police that his father had left him with caretaker Ramotar almost a week ago. He alleged he was being made to work the entire day and not being paid in return. Besides, he accused Ramotar of sexually harassing him.

An FIR has been registered against the farm caretaker under Section 6 of the POCSO Act, Section 3 of Child Labor Act and Aection 506 of the IPC.

The police arrested the accused on Monday. He reportedly confessed to the crime. He will be produced in court on Tuesday.

According to the complaint filed by the victim, his family hails from Uttar Pradesh, but lives at a farm near Khod village. Unable to make ends meet, the boy’s father left him at the farm to take care of irrigation sprinkler and harvesting.

“On the night of August 8, he called me on the pretext of some urgent work and locked me in a room. He then sodomosied me. When I resisted, he threatened to kill me. After an hour, I seized my chance and fled. I returned home and kept mum and did not go to work for the next few days. When my father confronted me, I confided in him,” the victim told the police.

“We are trying to find out if any other child has been harassed by him,” said investigating officer Devender Singh.

To be produced in court today
