In a shocking incident, eight persons allegedly gangraped a 50-year-old woman near the Karnal railway station. The incident came to light yesterday when the Rohtak police forwarded a zero FIR to the police, following which the women police station registered a case against unidentified persons. The woman is undergoing treatment at the PGI, Rohtak.

As per the information, the incident took place on the night of August 14 when the woman was sitting at the platform of the station. A person came and lured her on the pretext of providing food. He took her to an isolated building where seven other persons were already present. The woman was allegedly gangraped by them. Sources said the victim somehow reached the railway station and boarded a train. A shopkeeper at the Rohtak railway station got her admitted to a hospital on August 17.

“The Rohtak police have sent us the case and we have registered an FIR under Section 376D of the IPC against eight unidentified persons,” said Surinder Singh Bhoria, Superintendent of Police.
