26% of projects announced by CM pending

Nearly 100 days are left for the state Assembly elections, but 25.78 % of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar’s announcements are still pending.

As many as 7,948 announcements about projects or schemes were made, but just 2,965 (38.53 %) have been completed while 2,746 (35.69 %) are still in progress. There are 253 (3.18%) announcements which are not feasible.

The CM’s promises ranged from projects to schemes to even renaming chowks. There are 22 districts in the state but the developmental works haven’t been equally distributed.

Panchkula has the minimum share of CM’s announcements at 1.77 % of the total. The CM has made just 141 promises for it so far and out of that 33 (24.26%) are still pending, 48 have been completed (35.29%) and 55 (40.44%) are in progress. Five (3.55%) of the demands are not feasible. Rewari has the second lowest number of CM’s promises —- 187, which is 2.35 % of the total. As many as 77 (42.08%) have been completed, 69 (37.7%) are in progress, 37 (20.22%) are pending and 4 (2.14%) are not feasible.

The slowest work is going on in Charkhi Dadri. Here, 195 announcements were made, which is the third lowest and comprises 2.45 % of the total. As many as 86 (45.26%) works are still pending, which is the highest when compared in percentage terms. Gurugram has a share of 219 announcements (2.76 %) but 59 (28.64%) are pending. As many as 220 promises have been made to Jhajjar, but 47 (22.27%) are still pending.

The CM has made 687 announcements in Hisar, which is the maximum. It forms 8.64 % of the total share of promises. Out of them, 250 (37.43%) are complete, 232 (34.73%) are in progress, 186 (27.84 %) are still pending and 19 (2.77%) are not feasible.

Bhiwani has the second highest share of announcements (668, which is 8.40%). Out of them, 111 (17.37%) are pending but 309 (48.36%) are complete, 219 (34.27%) are in progress and 29 (4.34%) are not feasible.

Sirsa has the third highest share at 544 (6.84 %), and 237 are pending (44.55%).

Khattar made 499 (6.28%) promises in his home district Karnal; 78 (15.98%) are still pending. The Khattar government came in October 2014, and made 102 announcements that year. Of them, just 8 are pending (8.42 %). The highest number of announcements (2,655) were made in 2018, and of them 996 (38.12 %) are pending.

This year, just 662 promises were made and 567 (85.78%) of them are pending.

The works are getting delayed due to land requirement issues. Sometimes there are disputes or objections. But, regular meetings are being conducted for the CM’s announcements and we will fulfil all of them before the elections — Rajiv Jain, Media adviser to the CM
