Rohtak, November 27

As many as 236 confirmed cases of dengue have been reported in Rohtak district till Wednesday. The number has, however, seen a decline as compared to last year when it was 352.

District Malaria Officer Dr Anupama Mittal said regular inspection/monitoring was being done and notices were being issued to the residents on whose premises mosquitoes were found breeding.

“We have issued notices to as many as 10,082 such residents this year,” she added.

Notably, certain colonies and areas of Rohtak city, which were found to be under high-risk category regarding the prevalence of dengue in the recent years, had been put under the red-zone category. “These are the colonies/areas in which more than 10 dengue cases had been reported last year,” Dr Mittal said, adding that this year, special care was being taken to prevent the spread of the disease in these localities.

Meanwhile, the Civil Surgeon has sought the record of the dengue patients from the Rohtak PGIMS Director in view of the discrepancy in the number of cases being reported from the district as per the records of the Health Department.
