A police team nabbed two local gangsters after an encounter here today. The gangsters have been identified as Sanjeet alias Sonu, a resident of Rudki village, and Aman of Ismaila village in the district.

Addressing a news conference here this evening, Superintendent of Police (SP) Pankaj Nain said a team of the CIA-I wing was on patrol duty when they got a tip-off that the duo was moving in a car.

A naka was laid and the car was signalled to stop, but the duo started firing at the police. The police also fired at them and Sanjeet got injured. He was admitted to the local Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS).

Sanjeet is said to be involved in several cases of crime, including murder, attempt to murder and loot etc. Two pistols and cartridges were recovered from the possession of the gangsters.
