The charred body of a resident of Jalandhar (Punjab) was found in his car, which was destroyed in a fire, early this morning by the Una police in Bankhandi area on the Una-Hoshiarpur border.

The deceased has been identified as Chandan (31), a resident of Anand Nagar in Jalandhar city.

According to DSP (Headquarters) Kulwinder Singh, the car (PB-08 BE 6416) was going towards Jalandhar. A short-circuit in the car’s electrical system could have been the cause of the incident.— OC
