Jalandhar, July 13

Even as hundreds of students are turning up to get their detailed marks certificates, transcripts and other documents from the IK Gujral Punjab Technical University to get admission in PG courses in other institutes, employees who have been on strike since Friday are refusing to entertain them.

They are refusing help even for emergency cases wherein admission prospects of students could be affected. Many of these youth have been coming from far-flung areas along with their parents. Saloni, a passout of the Ludhiana College of Engineering and Technology, came to the university today to get her detailed marks certificate for B.Tech for admission in M.Tech at the Punjab Agricultural University. “I have to appear for admission counselling with my documents on July 16 but the PTU staff are not cooperating. I am really worried,” she said. Harjas of Patiala said he had applied for M.Pharmacy from Punjabi University. “I have to submit my marksheet of B.Pharmacy but the staff here are not helping.” — TNS
