Senior Youth Congress leader Jagdeep Kamboj, alias Goldy, has been booked for allegedly duping a villager of Rs 6.25 lakh. He had reportedly promised Resham Singh of Khairke Uttar village to get his son-in-law Surjit Singh’s name deleted from an FIR registered in a murder case.

Upon getting the assurance, Resham Singh paid Kamboj Rs 6.25 lakh. However, when Jagdeep failed to keep his promise, Resham asked him to return the money. Jagdeep refused to refund the amount.

On the complaint of Resham Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police, (SSP) Fazilka, probed the matter and found Jagdeep to have cheated others too. Earlier too, Kamboj has courted controversies. He was reportedly found involved in the theft of cars in a case registered by Chandigarh Police in 2007.
