A boy died after he was hit by a rashly driven bike near Dholewal Chowk.

The victim has been identified as Salinder Kumar of Guru Arjan Dev Nagar. Due to severe head injuries, he died on the spot.

The police have registered a case against unidentified person.


12 persons booked for attacking couple’s parents

The Division No. 4 police have booked 12 people for attacking the parents of a couple, who solemnized love marriage against the wishes of girl’s parents. The assailants in the case were girl’s father and other kin.

Victims sustained minor injuries in the incident. Naresh Kumar of Rajesh Nagar in his complaint told the police that his son Ajay Kumar solemnized court marriage with Vishakha in February last month, due to which the girl’s parents were not happy and they had been threatening them.

Naresh is Punjab Home Guards (PHG) employee and is engaged in security duty at some official’s house. The boy supplies milk in the area. He was in a relationship with the girl for a long time due to which he solemnized the marriage.

On March 19, when he and his wife arrived home, the accused barged into the house and attacked them. Fortunately, they sustained minor injuries only, the victims said.

Those booked are girl’s father Lalit Kumar, Menty, Babbal, Sapna, Geeta, Sukhi, Poonam, Bunny, Gattu, Vijay, Beant Kaur and Guddi. No arrest has been made in the case so far. No arrest has been made in the case so far.


Delhi man booked for Rs50-lakh fraud

The Jodhewal police have booked a Delhi-based man for committing a fraud of over Rs50 lakh. Complainant Gaurav Kirpal of Atal Nagar told the police that he had supplied fabric worth over Rs 50 lakh and the accused issued a cheque. When the cheque was presented in the bank, the account of the accused was found dormant. No arrest has been made in the case so far.
