Yatra to mark Gurpurb in Mumbai

MUMBAI: A three-day Jagriti Yatra to mark the 350th birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh will be held in Mumbai and other parts of Maharashtra from tomorrow, a top official said here today.

A three-day Jagriti Yatra to mark the 350th birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh will be held in Mumbai and other parts of Maharashtra from tomorrow, a top official said here today.

The Yatra will pass through important Sikh community pockets and reach Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha in Dadar, said Sardar Tara Singh, president of Gurdwara Board of Takht Sachkhand Sri Hazur Sahib, Nanded (Maharashtra).

After prayers by devotees, it will leave on Monday morning from Gurdwara Sahib, Khar suburb, and then to Gurdwara Dhan, Pathohar Nagar, and proceed to Gurdwara Sri Guru Nanak Darbar in Andheri and onto Gurdwara Sahib in Tagore Nagar.

On Tuesday, it will proceed to Shahpur (Thane), completing its Mumbai leg, said Sardar Tara Singh, also the chairman of the Maharashtra Minority Welfare Committee. —IANS
