Woodstock School, Mussoorie, beat Lawrence School, Sanawar, 56-37 in a match during the 29th All-India Golden Jubilee Basketball Tournament in Dehradun today.

In other matches of the day, The Doon defeated Pine Grove School (HP) 54-26, Welham Boys’ School, Dehradun, beat YPS (Patiala) 64-36 and The Asian School, Dehradun, thrashed Lawrence School (Sanawar) 52-38.

Gunmeet Bindra, Principal, Welham Boys’ School, Mahesh Kandpal, Vice-Principal, and Vinod Vacchani, Secretary, Uttarakhand Basketball Association, were present.

Asian School win overall skating trophy

The Asian School won the overall trophy in the XXI Dehradun District Inter-School Skating Championship organised by the Association of Roller Skating Uttarakhand at GRD Academy here on Sunday.

In other events, Kasiga School won the Inline Skate Hockey trophy while Aryan School won the Best Discipline trophy.

During the championship, 285 skaters from various schools showed their skills in various events. Ajay Aggrawal, Deputy Director Sports, Chandragupta Vikram, president of the Roller Skating Association, and Lata Gupta, Director of GRD Academy, jointly gave away prizes and certificates to the winners. Ajay Aggrawal was the chief guest of the award giving function.
