Amritsar, March 30

Jaswinder’s widow Balbir Kaur was inconsolable. “They have killed my husband. It is nothing less than a murder. His life was made so miserable by Raju and his accomplices that he had no way out left. His repeated pleas fell on deaf ears. The accused had virtually left our family penniless,” she said.

She alleged Pritpal Singh Lalli, who was once his partner and husband of an SAD councillor, had become Jaswinder’s foe and grabbed his cable business at the behest of Sarabjit Singh Raju. Jaswinder was being pressured and mentally harassed by the suspects, she alleged. Jaswinder was receiving death threats, she said.

While cable operators were supporting and consoling the family members, anger was writ large on their faces. They were accusing Raju and his accomplices of grabbing business of many cable operators.
