The police claimed to have arrested two more members of the gang which looted 34 fire weapons and 1,234 live cartridges from a gun house in Kotkapura town of Faridkot two month ago. The police have recovered two revolvers from these accused. Gursewak Singh and Ankush were nabber at a time when they were planning to kill a person in Kotkapura town, said Sukhdev Singh Kahlon, SSP, Faridkot.

Two booked for rape
Two persons have been booked for allegedly raping a woman. The two men have been identified as SK Sharma and Sanjeev Sharmas. The victim alleged the accused barged into her house and raped her.

Verify pensioners, DCs told
The Punjab Government on Thursday directed all deputy commissioners (DCs) to verify old age pensioners as per the guidelines of the Social Security Department  before December 15.  The DCs have been told to tally the list of beneficiaries with the voters' list.

Freedom fighter dead
Veteran freedom fighter Jagraj Singh of Thandewala village in Muktsar sub-division died of cardiac arrest late Tuesday evening. He was 100 years old. The cremation was carried out the next year with state honours.
