Srinagar, November 14

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senior leader and Anantnag chief coordinator Mufti Sajjad Hussain today said the party would continue its struggle for peace, stability and political, economic empowerment of the state.

During a daylong tour to Roohu, Monghal, Lalan Ganoor, Chechripora, Kamad, Ugjan, Utrasoo Nijigund and Wanihama in Anantnag Sajjad said for the PDP welfare of Jammu and Kashmir and its people, and not power, was the first priority.

“The party would continue its struggle for peace, stability and political and economic empowerment of the masses,” the PDP leader was quoted by a party spokesman.

He also complimented the PDP cadre for having successfully carried the party’s political and economic agenda to the grassroots level.

“Mufti Sajjad also asked them to participate in the developmental front to highlight the party agenda,” the spokesman said.

The PDP has stepped up its political activities in Kashmir. On Sunday, the PDP held a political event in Srinagar — the biggest in the past nearly four months.
