Deputy CM Sukhbir Badal today claimed that there was a massive wave in the state in favour of the SAD and if the elections were held today, the Congress and AAP would suffer a massive defeat.

Sukhbir, who was here today to hold his Sangat Darshan, said the youth would play a significant role in the victory of the SAD-BJP combine.

On the announcement of candidates, Sukhbir said all party workers and leaders were aware of the names of the candidates to be fielded and a formal announcement would be made soon.

Training his guns on the Congress, he said, “Whatever strategy the Congress may choose, its total rout from Punjab as in the entire country is inevitable.”

The Deputy CM announced the setting up of a 66 KV grid at a cost of Rs4 crore, besides the widening of the Gidderbaha-Doda road at a cost of Rs12 crore. Sukhbir also directed the Muktsar Deputy Commissioner to provide monetary assistance of Rs80,000 to a local girl selected for the Women Baseball World Cup to be held from September 3-11 in South Korea. Raj Rani (23) along with her parents had approached Sukhbir for monetary assistance.
