Marshall School holds exhibition

Marshall School organised a science and art exhibition today to mark the birth anniversary of Nobel Laureate Sir CV Raman, who invented the ‘Raman effect’. The day is celebrated in India as National Science Day. Princesses Ksheerja Shah of the ersthwhile Tehri state inaugurated the exhibition in presence of school chairman Ratnish Chandra Jayal, president Rajnish Jayal, headmaster Dr AK Bakshi, school teachers and students on the premises of junior school.

Shah, while addressing the students, called upon them to develop scientific temper. The main attraction of the science and art exhibition were models and charts displayed by children of Classes III to VI. Students highlighted the importance of rainwater harvesting, parts of an eye, solar oven and solar water heater, model of a popcorn maker, model of wind energy and the water cycle chart. Anirudh of Class VI showcased the model of a traffic light and highlighted the traffic problem in Dehradun. Similiarly, Maithree Juyal of Class VI highlighted the importance of rainwater harvesting through a chart and model.

An art exhibition was also organised wherein children showcases their creative skills. Parents and guests praised the children’s efforts. Rajnish Jayal, president of Marshall School, narrated about the growth of India’s space programme.
